Everyone Knows How to Read a Compass, Right?

During our January 15th meeting our boys learned many of the key basics for land navigation. Some important lessons learned were:

1. How to read a map legend

2. The two different types of north (grid north and magnetic north)

3. How to determine declination

4. How to properly orient a map

5. How to shoot a bearing (azimuth)
